Payne County Oklahoma is located sixty two miles from Tulsa and fifty three miles from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 

The Payne County Sheriff's Department is manned twenty four hours a day three hundred sixty five days a year.

 

The goal of the Payne County Sheriff's Department is to make Payne County a safe and prosperous place to live while maintaining a postive relationship between members of the Sheriff's Office and the community.

The County Sheriff is responsible for preserving the peace and protecting life and property within the county's jurisdiction. As the County's chief law enforcement officer, the Sheriff has the power and authority to suppress all unlawful disturbances, to apprehend and secure persons charged with felony or breach of peace, and to operate the County Jail.

 

The County Sheriff has the responsibility of serving warrants and processing papers ordered by the District Court.
