HomeThe Payne County Sheriff's Department Field Services consist of twelve Field Deputies.
These Field Deputies patrol approximately 742 square miles responding to both Criminal and Civil calls, to protect lives and property, to serve warrants, to serve civil processes, investigate crimes, and assist other agencies.
Payne County Deputies must maintain a total of twenty-five hours of continuing education for the Year 2009.
In addition to these traditional field services, the Payne County Sheriff's Department has three transport deputies assigned to the Transport Division.
These Deputies transport persons (adult and juvenile) from other county jails, juvenile detention facilities, Department of Corrections, and other facilities both within and outside the State of Oklahoma. The chart below reflects the transport mileage from 2003 to 2007 both within and outside the State.
The Payne County Sheriff's Department provides three full-time Deputies for Courthouse Security.
Courthouse Security is jointly funded by the Payne County Court Clerk and the Payne County Commissioners and monitors approximately 12,000 people each month.
Recent Legislation has provided for a fee on Criminal Cases which is designated for Courthouse Security.
